U.S. President Donald Trump marked his 100th day in office on April 30, 2025, amid growing scrutiny of his contradictory remarks about his involvement with the memecoin ’Official Trump (Trump)’. During an interview with NBC News’ Kristen Welker, Trump denied profiting from the token, stating, ’I haven’t even looked,’ despite launching it just two days before his inauguration.

His subsequent comment—’If I own stock in something and I do a good job, and the stock market goes up, I guess I’m profiting’—drew criticism for potential conflicts of interest. The remarks clash with his pro-crypto advocacy, raising questions about transparency and alignment with his crypto-friendly agenda.
